Welcome to District CM School Of Excellence in Chatra, previously recognized as Rajya Samposit High School Chatra is a government-managed co-educational CBSE senior secondary school situated at the core of Chatra
Originally established by the local governing body (Nagar Palika) in 1938, it was officially acknowledged as a secondary school by the Bihar Government on January 2, 1941. Since then, it has maintained a prestigious status as the solitary secondary school in the Chatra block. In 2017, as part of the Jharkhand government's vision, the school underwent an upgrade to the 10+2 system, and education began to be offered from grades IX to XII in Hindi medium until April 2023. During the same year, under the Government of Jharkhand's ambitious initiative, 80 government schools were transformed into Schools of Excellence, and this institution proudly joined their ranks. Affiliated with the CBSE board, the school was subsequently rebranded as the District CM School Of Excellence.
